Client Spotlight - Ms. E
Ms. E came into the studio wanting to reclaim her queerness, and to feel seen, and expose a part of herself that often gets covered up. Bi-erasure, navigating queer spaces, and not feeling queer enough were all things she wanted to address during her shoot, which she booked during Pride month. I'll let her tell you the rest.

What inspired you to book a boudoir session? What made you choose Lightfox Studios?
I love the community that Lightfox Studios has created on Facebook and loved being part of it, Jacob put out a model call for a Pride-themed shoot and I really wanted to be part of it!
Did you have any concerns before your intimate portrait session? What were you nervous about walking in?
Yes, of course! I mean apart from health risks of COVID, and travelling to MA for the shoot, I've been feeling pretty self-conscious recently since I haven't been in my regular healthy routine over the past few months. Also, I've never really thought of myself as photogenic and I was nervous about not knowing how to pose.
What was your favorite part of the experience?
I really liked getting my hair and makeup done and selecting my outfits. My absolute favorite was the shooting itself. I loved getting to play around with the different outfits and poses and getting such different vibes from all. Also getting to listen to a playlist I made beforehand and just having a blast shooting with Jacob!

How do you feel now that you've completed the session?
AMAZING! Seeing how the photos came out feels breath-taking. Truly feeling gorgeous even when I'm at my most self conscious feels so gratifying. I am so grateful for this experience!
What was your initial reaction to seeing your photos?
Shock and awe! My mouth hit the floor instantly.

Who would you recommend an intimate portrait shoot with Lightfox Studios to?
YES, absolutely! To anyone really! But especially friends who are going through periods of transition, who want to feel a sense of empowerment, or just feeling themselves, brides etc...
Now that you're an expert, what advice would you give yourself or future clients?
Definitely make a playlist ahead of time so you have some music that lets you feel yourself. If you anxious going in, it really will be alright once you get started. Eat a good breakfast and stretch beforehand!
"The photos came out AMAZING and I will cherish them for years to come. I will definitely be back for future events."
